A Message from Republic Services Regarding Trash/Recycling Pick Up
Northeast IN/Fort Wayne Market Winter Storm Update Details
First, let Republic Services say that we hope you all are staying healthy and safe in this Winter Storm that we all are facing today. We are sure you are aware that all operations in the market have been suspended for today. This is not a decision that was made lightly as we carefully considered numerous factors, but overall, the safety and well-being of the general public, our customers, and our own employees were the main drivers behind our decision to suspend service. We thank you all for your patience and understanding as we navigate through this winter storm together.
Due to the weather, cold, and road conditions continuing to deteriorate, we are forced suspend services for Friday, February 4th. What does that mean as it relates to trash & recycle collections services?
When collection services are suspended for multiple days within a week, there are simply not enough days, manpower, and hours to make this up. This triggers what is called a “double pick-up on their next service date” for the residents who are impacted.
For standard trash collection, this will be next Wednesday 9th, Thursday 10th, and Friday 11th. Extra bags of waste will be serviced if placed next to carts for pick-up.
For standard every other week recycle collection, this will be Wednesday 16th, Thursday 17th, and Friday 18th. Extra cardboard or paper bags containing recyclables will be serviced if placed next to carts for pick-up.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Best Regards,
Craig Lutz
